Happenings Lately…

Wow what a month! Our blog is officially here and I could not be prouder of all the hard work that went into creating it. I lost count of how many hours I spent researching, designing, and planning to ensure that this is the perfect source for all of my fellow interior and home decor lovers. What do you guys think so far? I hope you will continue to find this to be a valuable resource and enjoy following along with
me and David!

This post is packed with links to products I'm currently loving, home renovation updates, upcoming blog posts, some things I'm looking forward to, and happenings lately! Click through to read alllllll the things.

Not going to lie, it’s scary starting something new. It involves crazy vulnerability, a lot of guts, and the ability to take risks - none of which are my strong suit. In October, I attended The Everygirl virtual career conference that left me totally inspired and confident in this new season. If you’re starting a new career, transitioning or just need a pick-me-up you’ll love these virtual panels. You can watch them here.

David and I also started watching Friends from the beginning. Would you believe me if I told you neither one of us has really watched the show? We’re on season three and so far, I want everything in Rachel’s closet and Ross makes me literally laugh out loud. I'm also very proud of myself because I now understand the “lobster” reference hahah.

We recently took a road trip to visit some family in Cincinnati - road trips are my favorite btw.  Besides answering all your questions on Instagram, this podcast got us through the 5 hour drive.

I keep referring to this image for our kitchen inspiration. I looovve the “english country” vibes and all the brass hardware. How cozy does it look? I can already smell David’s famous chocolate chip pancakes yummm!!

This month i’m loving:

Oxygenating Foundation // ok I am not a fan of face makeup and I have rosacea which make my skin SO sensitive to products. This foundation is a gamechanger for problematic skin (like mine.)It is a liiiiitle pricier but the lightweight, breathable formula and medium coverage is so worth it!

The Ordinary Hyaluronic Serum // I was influenced by tiktok (lol), I bought this serum and all i can say is W.O.W. Super hydrating, this product has completely transformed my skin and is WORTH the hype.

This cozy throw // its officially cozy season and this throw is oober soft and perfect for curling up in front of the tv with a hot chocolate.

This candle from hearth and hand// This candle has been burning constantly in our home. I call it my “productivity candle” because it just smells THAT nice - plus it’s fesstiveee!

Folex cleaner // Have you guys heard of this? This cleaner is amazing if you are like me and decided to own white furniture while also owning pets. I swear it’s MAGIC!!

Our favorite mugs// These mugs look as good on the shelf as they do in your hand!! I love to give these as personalized gifts!

This dainty gold necklace// The perfect layering piece!

In terms of renovations…

We are well underway with the plans for our new house - did you catch my little “before tour” of the main floor? I have it saved under my house reno highlight on Instagram. For those who don't know, we bought a 100+ year old home in Evanston, IL and are currently renovating the entire first floor. Because of the age of the house, we are working with architects to make sure we keep the structural integrity of the house intact while turning it into our dreammmm home. So far, the new floor-plans and interior elevations are complete and we are waiting for construction documents and permits (YIPEE!). I am planning on doing a blog post soon outlining our plans for the kitchen + some inspiration I'm loving - follow me on Pinterest to see all my house inspo boards! For those of you who have asked, we are not going to live in the house during the renovation. We are going to stay in our current condo until we’re ready to move-in.  Have any of you lived in a house during renovations? What was your experience?

In case you missed it…

This past month was filled with content to get us ready for the approaching holidays: If you’re still searching for holiday decor, check out my Holiday Decor Roundup before everything is sold out! Still searching for that perfect faux tree? Read my Bext Faux Foliage for the Holidays post to see options all under $200. I also took you through my Holiday Bar Cart Styling (which is one of my favorite things) and included some very yummy, festive cocktail recipes. Lastly - Gift Guides! I rounded some special and unique gift ideas for the inlaws and men in our lives!

Coming up for the rest of this month…

I have lots of things planned for the month of December!! Make sure to sign up for email subscriptions (I promise I do not spam you) so you don’t miss any of the fun blog posts that go up throughout the month. Of course, we have more gift guides coming, more cocktails (because that’s our jam), a big holiday tour of our current apartment, lots of product roundups, winter date-night ideas (covid-19 edition), and more! Lets, bring on the holidays!!

Things I’m Looking Forward too:

There is just SO much to be thankful for right now - my health and safety, family, the fact that 2020 is finally coming to an end… I mean it’s all truly a blessing. We are spending the Christmas holiday with my family in Florida - my family moved there two years ago and the distance, plus the current pandemic, has made it almost impossible to see them this year. I am so excited to be able to spend the holidays with my parents and siblings who mean so much to me. I’m also excited to begin the renovations of our house! Construction should start end of December/January and I cannot WAIT to begin. I’m also just ready for a fresh start - this year has been hard in so so many ways. Although im thankful for the lessons I’ve learned this year, I think we could all use a little “restart” button. What are you guys looking forward to in the next coming months?

I am so grateful for each one of you being here and following along —It means so much to us! I can’t wait to keep growing in this little corner of the inter-web and having you all along for the ride!

xoxo
