Our 2024 Project List

Here it is! This is our list of projects that we aim to have completed this year. From simple updates to larger projects, we are planning on doing a little bit of everything and I’m excited to bring you all along!

  1. Baby Girl’s Nursery

First on the priority list is designing a nursery for our newest addition arriving this May. This room has served as both a guest bedroom and an office space but now it’s time to transform it into a beautiful, welcoming space for Baby Girl. I’m excited to incorporate some of my favorite things: floral wallpaper, vintage furniture, cozy textures, and lots of feminine details!

2. Our Beach Cottage: Exterior Update

The secret is out! Over the summer, David and I bought a small cottage in Southwest Michigan and plan to slowly transform it into the Airbnb of my dreams. Owning and operating a rental property in Southwest Michigan has been a dream of mine for a long time. My family has lived in this area for generations and I grew up spending many magical summers on the beach. The first step this year is to give the cottage an exterior refresh: demo the existing deck, build out a new porch, install an outdoor shower, put in new landscaping and give the house a fresh coat of paint! I am so excited to share this special little place with you all.

3. Primary Closet

Our primary closet is basically an empty box. When we renovated the upstairs, we built on an addition to create a larger primary bathroom and this allowed us to turn the existing bathroom space into a small walk-in closet! After the major renovation, we lacked the time, energy, and budget to do anything fancy in here so we bought some standing clothes racks and called it a day. After a couple years, our current situation is just not cutting it and I am more than ready to get this closet looking pretty and feeling functional.

4. Laundry/Basement Organization

Our basement/laundry room is unfinished and frankly, quite scary (if any of you live in an old home you know what I mean). Since we moved in, the basement has become a dumping ground for boxes, holiday decorations, extra furniture, tools and clothing.I would love to start organizing the space and making it feel a little less scary.

This is our list and I’m really pumped to get started. I think having a clearer picture of what we want to accomplish this year will help us to plan out our projects in a more organized, manageable way. Here’s to another great year of loving on our home and bringing you all along with us!
