My Parents Bathroom Makeover: Plans + Moodboards
I’m excited to share the project I’m working on with my first official design clients — my parents! When they bought their (gorgeous) home a few months ago, the first project they wanted to tackle was updating two of the upstairs bathrooms. With plenty of space and great layouts to work with, I was more than happy to help these spaces reach their full potential.
The first bathroom will be my little brother’s primary bathroom. Noah is starting middle school in the Fall and is growing like a WEED so I wanted to design a space that could grow along with him.
The plan:
Paint the walls
Paint the vanity
Replace: vanity countertops, cabinet hardware, vanity mirror, light fixture, and plumbing fixtures
Re-tile bathroom floor and shower
Replace shower door with frameless glass door
Add art and cute styling accessories
When choosing products for his Noah’s bathroom, we went for a balance of clean, traditional materials and masculine details that feel timeless and “cool” at the same time. SW Gibraltar is the perfect blue-grey color to revamp the existing vanity and this wooden mirror adds just the right amount of warmth to the overall cool-toned space. To add some personal flair, I chose this unique artwork from Etsy that reflects Noah’s Ethiopian heritage.
The second bathroom is a Jack and Jill style that will act as the primary guest bathroom. Given that this room will be used by everyone that comes to stay with my parents, I wanted to design a neutral retreat with lots of classic and pretty details.
The plan:
Paint the walls
Replace: vanity countertops, cabinet hardware, vanity mirror, light fixtures, and plumbing fixtures
Re-tile bathroom floor
Replace tub-shower with a standing shower
Wallpaper the toilet room
For this bathroom I plan to mix metals, textures, and patterns to to make the neutral space feel unique and inviting. I love how much character this sconce will add to the double vanity and I’m so excited to use this statement wallpaper from West Coast Walls.

Given that our personal renovation is taking so long, I’m super excited to experience the satisfaction of a quick-turnaround project! What do you think of the moodboards/design plans? Any questions?! Let me know in the comment section below!
