How I Decorate Seasonally + Fall Decor Essentials

Besides putting up Christmas decorations and occasionally “spookifying” our house for Halloween, I’ve never been one for super “theme-y” seasonal decorating. I don’t need my decor to tell me what season it is. I have windows for that. So instead of seasonally overhauling my decor, I like to focus on refreshing the way a room makes me feel - and for Fall this means cozy, comfortable, and warm. Whether it’s layering an extra chunky throw on the bed, arranging some maple leaf stems into a vase, or lighting a harvest spice candle, these small details appeal to the senses and welcome the changing seasons into my home simply.

Because we’re moving out in a few weeks, I’m keeping my decor to a minimum and packing the rest away. I changed out the stems on our mantel to these super realistic faux maple branches, draped a textured plaid throw over our comfy chair and stacked some of my favorite interior books on the side-table for some evening reading. The result: simple, cozy, and ready for Fall.

It IS fun to refresh your home with a few items every season so I rounded up some fall decor essentials that appeal to every budget and give you an excuse to do a little shopping. Happy Fall Friends!
