Our Powder Room Moodboard
The first project I decided I wanted to tackle once we moved into our house was our little powder room. During the renovation, I had to pick out plumbing fixtures and flooring so I chose this gorgeous Kohler console sink in a brushed bronze finish months ago. When it was finally installed last week I almost shed a tear of happiness. I also decided to go with a really cool black and white penny tile pattern for the floors that really speaks to the history of our 100 year old house.
From there, I really just had to round out my vision by choosing a paint color, light fixtures, and accessories to really make the space feel special. In my opinion, powder rooms are a great opportunity to get creative and make a statement because we all know it’s one of the first rooms a guest is guaranteed to visit!
Ready to see it?!
I think all the different patterns complement each other and feel really fresh while still portraying that old-world style I wanted for this room! I’m think I’m most excited about the wooden toilet seat. This was a big controversy on Instagram (many of you had very strong opinions and I love that) BUT it feels right for me and I’m excited to see how it turns out.
The walls were a different story. I went back and forth between using wallpaper and paint in here for a while but ultimately decided vertical shiplap walls painted in a creamy taupe would be perfect for this small space. Speaking of paint — how perfect is this taupe shade from Clare?!
